Un regista (nudo, spogliato di ogni visione soggettiva) guarda la sua opera come spettatore: il ritratto di un sistema avanzatissimo di potere, il suo ritmo nevrotico, le sue implicazioni sessuali e relazionali. Il tutto gestito e controllato da un solo uomo, in una villa antica rimodernata in modo principesco e pomposo dove si trova la sua “cabina di comando”. Egli controlla i suoi “fedeli” nei settori più disparati, con un unico intento: accrescere il suo Potere. L’ambiente luculliano ospita delle giovani donzelle occupate a bere e sguazzare nella piscina interna allo studio. Sulla scrivania ci sono diversi apparecchi telefonici contraddistinti da una sigla specifica. In una sequenza di telefonate l’uomo misterioso detta le sue leggi, in modo da tessere una intricata catena di eventi dannosi per l’intera società ma utilissimi ai suoi fini. Case farmaceutiche, banchieri, mass-media, malavitosi, tutti sapientemente gestiti e coordinati dalla sua avidità, obbediscono meccanicamente, vittime della stessa malattia: la bramosia. Quello che avviene in una rocambolesca partita di poker vinta da uno dei suoi “fedeli”, in una serie di colpi di scena, conferma che il potere non è soggetto alla fortuna, ma che esso la crea, la domina e la distrugge per illudere i “semplici”. PLOT OF THE PREQUEL
A director (bare, stripped of all subjective view) looks at his work as a spectator: the portrait of an advanced system of power, his neurotic rhythm, its implications and sexual relationships.
